We are once again in the middle
of the most prestigious and marquee cricket event - the World Cup. The cricket
carnival Down under is now two weeks old and has been action packed to the
fullest. We have seen new frontiers (b)reached by batsmen and bowlers becoming
more of a cannon fodder. In the middle of it associates like Ireland, UAE,
Afghanistan and Scotland are punching above their weights for their survival in
the prestigious tournament in upcoming editions. New Zealand finally seems to
have got their act together and are looking hot favorites to win the tournament.
India, Australia and South Africa seems to be the worthy challengers for the
Black Caps. Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka have been disappointing so far.
West Indies’ performances are fluctuating between the very best and the worst.
We are half way down the League Phase with 21 matches over and its ideal time
to see who all fared well and who has left much to be desired. Let us now see CWC 2015 so far in numbers.
