The emotionally anticipated Adelaide test match saw as many
4 hundreds in the first 3 days of play. An aggressive one from Warner, a neatly
placed one from Steve Smith, a gusty one from Clarke and one on captaincy debut
by Virat Kohli. It was the 20th occasion where captains from both
sides scoring a century in the first innings of the respective teams. Last time
it happened was in the first test of the Australian tour of India in 2013 at
Chennai when Clarke scored 130 and MS Dhoni replied with a strokefull 224.
Kohli became the 4th Indian to score a century on captaincy debut
after Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar & Dilip Vengsarkar.
